Home Start Stroud and Gloucester Recognized for Local Charity Work at 10 Downing Street
Home Start Stroud and Gloucester is thrilled to announce that its Director, Ri Ferrier, recently attended the ‘Local Charity Champion’s Reception’ hosted by the Rt Hon Stuart Andrew MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, at 10 Downing Street. This event celebrated the dedication and achievements of charities who have made a significant impact in their local communities.
Ri was nominated for this honor by Siobhan Baillie, MP for Stroud, in recognition of her work in supporting vulnerable families in the area. Hosted by the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, this event was a testament to the important role that local charities play in their communities.
Siobhan commented “It was a pleasure to nominate Ri to be honoured as a Local Charity Champion at No10 on behalf of all those who work so hard at Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester. This charity is so worthy of the highest recognition for the help and support it gives to young families who are struggling. There are so many charities, not just in Stroud, but across Gloucestershire, who do so much without fanfare. It is good to have an event like this to shine a light on them and say ‘thank you’. I hope Ri enjoyed her chance to get behind the famous black door and see some of Downing Street.”
Home-Start Stroud and Gloucester is a local charity that helps families with young children through their challenging times. Families struggling with isolation, loneliness and many other issues receive the support of a volunteer who will spend time in a family’s home helping them in the ways they need.
Ri commented “I was deeply honored to have been invited to the ‘Local Charity Champion’s Reception’ and to have been recognized for the work that we do in the community. I am very proud to represent Home Start Stroud and Gloucester. This recognition is not just for me, but for our entire team who work tirelessly to make a positive impact in the lives of families we support.”
