Home-Start Stroud District is a local charity which supports  parents who are going through challenging times located in the Stroud District of Gloucestershire and we are currently developing our service in Quedgeley & Kingsway in Gloucester.

Being a parent, whatever your situation, can be very difficult, especially when children are young. Many parents feel exhausted and overwhelmed by the stresses of family life, particularly if they have little support from family and friends when they need it most. For some parents it’s a particular struggle because they are also having to cope with issues such as post-natal depression, their own or their child’s illness or disability, isolation or multiple birth.

That’s when parents need support.

That’s when Home-Start Stroud can help.

A carefully selected volunteer, who has parenting experience themselves, regularly visits a family, in their own home, offering emotional and practical support through difficult times for as long as it is helpful or needed. This friendly parent-to-parent support is a simple yet effective way of enabling families to get back on track.

Please take a moment to browse through the pages of this website to find out more about our service, how to become a home-visiting volunteer or how you could offer your time by becoming a trustee of the charity.

Maybe you could make a donation, join our fundraising initiatives “Easy Fund Raising”, “Give as you live” or hold a fundraising event on our behalf. Follow our Fundraising link to find out more.

Third Angel, Gloucester Guildhall & Strike a Light presents PARTUS Different women from different backgrounds all brought together on one night that would turn out to be a birthday they'd never forget. Partus is a story of love, fear, joy, resilience and bravery. If you’ve had a baby, thought about it, are planning to or know anyone who has, this is the show for you. This is the sex education they never mentioned at school. “a funny, thought-provoking and completely unsentimental piece of theatre“ The Stage Suitable for ages 15+ *Baby-friendly performance – please ask box office for further information A Sheffield Theatres Co-production www.thirdangel.co.uk Tue 26th Sept Starts 7.30pm £10 / £7 Cons Wed 27th Sept Starts 10.30am £5 *baby friendly performance Call: 01452 50 30 50 ----- Suitability for 7:30pm performance: 15+ (parent’s discretion) Duration: 90mins including a ‘theatrical’ interval. What is a baby-friendly performance? *Our 10.30am show is a baby-friendly performance which means parents can come to the theatre without needing childcare, or worrying that they’ll disturb other audience members. This performance will be relaxed which means it’s okay to pop in and out as you need, to make noise, breastfeed or change, and all of the other things that come with taking little ones out in public. The house lights will be set a little higher for convenience, and set sound levels a little lower than usual, but there may still be sudden noises and lighting changes that could disturb a sensitive or sleeping child. There may also be other parents popping in and out, and it might be a noisy audience! We will have a buggy park available. Important note: This performance is for babes-in-arms (the company recommend under 12 months). It is unsuitable for toddlers and is not a family show. Additional info: This performance contains strong language and adult themes
